Yuk Yuk’s Present: Comedy Night with JACOB SAMUEL – MC Chris Griffin – Amber Harper-Young

September 30, 2022 @ 9:00 pm - 11:30 pm

Headliner JACOB SAMUEL

Jacob Samuel is a stand-up comic, cartoonist, and writer known for his clever and insightful comedy. Jacob has taped multiple national TV performances for the CBC, The Comedy Network, and Crave and has wowed audiences at both the Just For Laughs and Winnipeg Comedy Festivals. On radio, he can be heard on SiriusXM and on CBC’s The Debaters. Jacob has also had several cartoons published in The New Yorker even though he did terribly in middle school art class. Jacob won the 2021 JUNO Award for Best Comedy Album: “Horse Power”.

MC Chris Griffin

Chris Griffin is one of comedy’s most dynamic storytellers. After winning his regional round of the Great Canadian Laugh Off during his first year of comedy, Chris did something crazy. He quit his full time job, sold his house and hit stages across North America sharing his wild comedic adventures. It is a gamble that paid off. His move to Vancouver has brought a ton of success for Griffin, including winning 1st place in Vancouver’s Yuk Yuk’s Competition, being one of the only Canadian comics to ever make the finals of the prestigious San Francisco International Comedy Competition, performing four years in a row at the Just For Laughs Northwest Festival and sharing the stage with notable comics such as Norm Macdonald, Doug Stanhope, Tom Papa, Ari Shaffir and Bert Kreischer. In 2018 Griffin was nominated three times and took home one award in the inaugural Vancouver Comedy Awards. He also recorded his second full length comedy special in full 4K over two sold out shows at the Biltmore. Watch for the release in 2019!

Supporting Act Amber Harper-Young

Amber was a finalist in BC’s Funniest Female 2014. Her performing highlights include: The Comics Lounge-Melbourne Australia, The Del Close Marathon NYC (Improv), Yuk Yuk’s comedy clubs – Toronto/Ottawa/Vancouver and various other comedy clubs and touring shows across Canada. In 2015, Amber co-created/co-hosted and performed in a live series of Tragedy Comedy Shows at Yuk Yuk’s. She also co-hosts Vancouverite, an independent monthly show that was selected to be a part of the JFL NorthWest Comedy Festival in 2016. Amber’s absurd colourful style of self-deprecating comedy is based on her upbringing and adult life.
